Williamstown Holiday Walk: Saturday

December 3, 2022

Williamstown will be filled with holiday sounds and spirit featuring festivities with traditional New England flair, including old-fashioned caroling, horse-drawn carriage rides, the annual ReinDog Parade, Penny Social, a visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus, tree lighting, and much more.

Please join in Holiday Walk events happening Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!

Here’s what’s happening on Saturday:  

8-11am BREAKFAST WITH SANTA at The Williams Inn Ballroom. $24.95 for adults, $12.95 for children. Join for breakfast, crafts, and of course Santa!

9am “RUN WITH THE REINDEER” 5K FUN RUN at Purple Pub Courtyard (Sponsored by Jumpstart Running & Nature’s Closet). Dress as your favorite reindeer and run or walk this family-oriented, pet-friendly 5k.

9am-6pm PHOTO BOOTH at Paresky Park (across from Images Cinema). Take your best selfie and post it to #WilliamstownHolidayWalk. Print your best photo at The Print Shop Williamstown.

10am-5pm GINGERBREAD HOUSE EXHIBITION at Purple Pub Annex (Sponsored by Sweetwood of Williamstown). Vote for your favorite at The Smoothie Spot!

10am-5pm SALE AT WILLIAMS COLLEGE MUSEUM OF ART SHOP: Everything is 50% off. Galleries open with free admission. Special activities 3-5pm.

11am ELF at Images Cinema (Sponsored by Alton & Westall / Burnham Gold). Free. Enjoy a magical Christmas tale that’s fun for the whole family.

11am-1pm COOKIE DECORATING & CRAFTS at The Print Shop Williamstown. Free. Create crafts and decorate cookies to inspire the whole family.

11am-2pm FLU & COVID-19 VACCINE CLINIC in the Spring Street Parking Lot (Hosted by CHP Berkshires). Appointments for CHP’s Mobile Health Unit are encouraged. Call for yours (413) 528-0457.

12-2pm CRAFTING FOR KIDS at The Log by Ramuntos (Sponsored by Pine Cobble School). Free. Get in the holiday spirit with this easy craft for kids.

1-3pm SOUP-ER BOWL COOK-OFF on Walden Street (Sponsored by MountainOne and benefiting local food pantries). Buy a spoon for $5 and enjoy soups prepared by your favorite local chefs.

1-3pm COOKIE DECORATING at Spoon Café (Sponsored by Buxton School). Free. Celebrate the holiday season by decorating (and eating) cookies.

1-3pm WUPE-FM LIVE BROADCAST at Williamstown Chamber of Commerce Front Porch. Join “Whoopee in the Morning” host, Eric Greene, as he broadcasts live from the Chamber’s front porch.

1-3pm GREETING CARD WRITING at the First Congregational Church Front Steps. Free. Cards, pens, envelopes, and postage provided.

1-6pm TREE SHOWCASE at First Congregational Church (Benefiting Northern Berkshire Habitat for Humanity). Purchase raffle tickets to win your favorite tree.

1-6pm YULETIDE TREASURES POP-UP SHOP at First Congregational Church. Vintage & handmade tree ornaments, jewelry, and small gifts for sale.

1:15pm ELF at Images Cinema (Sponsored by Alton & Westall / Burnham Gold). Free. a magical Christmas tale that’s fun for the whole family.

2-4pm LIVE A CAPELLA MUSIC on the Post Office Steps:

2-5pm PENNY SOCIAL & NONPROFIT FAIR at Williams College Lasell Gym (Benefiting Williamstown Community Chest). Learn more about our community’s nonprofit organizations and how you can support them this holiday season. Plus, buy tickets to bid on items and prizes at the Penny Social! A winning ticket is drawn at random.

2:30pm REINDOG PARADE LINE-UP & JUDGING on the Falk Science Quad. Judging categories: 

  • Small Dog: pets 25 & under pounds
  • Medium Dog: pets between 26-45 pounds
  • Large Dog: pets over 46 pounds
  • Family Troupe: dress the whole family

3pm REINDOG PARADE on Spring Street (Sponsored by Southwestern Vermont Medical Center)

3-4:30pm WILLINET LIVE. Wave to WilliNet as they record and broadcast from the Holiday Walk.

3-5pm HOT CIDER & FIRESIDE CHAT at Paresky Park across from Images Cinema (Sponsored by the Williamstown D.I.R.E. Committee). Free. Cozy up to the fire and enjoy free hot cider.

3-5pm WARM UP @ WCMA with tea & cookies, music, and family art activities (Williams College Museum of Art). Free. Warm up with tea & cookies, music, and family art activities.

3-5pm COLLECTION DRIVE outside Amy’s Cottage (Sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 11626). Donate items for local animal shelters and gently used stuffed toys for first responders.

3-5pm LIVE DJ at Williamstown Chamber of Commerce Front Porch. Relax to some holiday classics.

3:30pm VISIT WITH SANTA CLAUS at The Williams Bookstore (Sponsored by Greylock Federal Credit Union). Awaken the good will and magic of the season with Santa.

3:30-6pm HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGE RIDES on Spring Street (Sponsored by The Clark Art Institute). Free. Enjoy a carriage ride up and down Spring Street by McKay’s Family Farm.

4pm & 7pm A CHRISTMAS SERVICE OF LESSONS AND CAROLS at Thompson Memorial Chapel. Free. Please bring a non-perishable food item to benefit local food pantries and come together for a Christmas service. The 7pm service will be broadcasted live on Willinet.

4-8pm GARLIC KNOT WREATH MAKING Purchase kits with instructions at The Log By Ramunto’s. Make your own garlic knot wreath at home.

5pm TREE LIGHTING & CAROLING on The Williams Inn Lawn (Sponsored by The Williams Inn). Watch the Williamstown holiday tree come alive with light and join in singing carols!

5:30pm LAS POSADAS: WELCOMING THE STRANGER at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Las Posadas commemorates the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe refuge where Mary could give birth.

7pm HOLIDAY MUSICAL BINGO at Mingo’s Sports Bar & Grill (Benefiting Louison House). Dozens of prizes! Entry $25. Tickets available at The Print Shop in Williamstown and Mingo’s Sports Bar & Grill.


In addition, downtown businesses will be collecting necessary items to help our Berkshire communities-in-need.  Support local shops AND help pay it forward to local charities:

December 2-9:   Non-Perishable Festive Food Drive! 

Please donate cake, brownie and cookie mixes, frosting, baking supplies, and dried fruits to benefit local pantries.

December 10-16:   Children & Teens Gift Drive!  

Please donate NEW unwrapped toys, crafts, books, and games to benefit local families.  

December 17-23:  Mitten Drive! 

Please donate NEW mittens and gloves to benefit local residents-in-need.
