At WCMA, a cabinet of curiosities meets contemporary college life. At the heart of the Williams College campus, the museum works with students, faculty and internationally respected artists, and presents thoughtful exhibits with a probing intelligence.
Shows curated from more than 14,000 works in its growing collection — and contemporary artwork from artists across the world — may take a close look at South African photographers, Mesoamerican faiths, Latinx contemporary performance art in L.A. or Arabic scripts and the flooding brought by the Aswan dam.
During the semester, performances, gallery tours and artist talks reflect on the work, and in the summer the museum hosts weekly conversations with faculty, visiting scholars and actors from the Williamstown Theatre Festival.
WCMA is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Wednesdays, and admission is always free.
