Hancock Shaker Village and Jacob’s Pillow present a one-time-only rebroadcast of choreographer Reggie Wilson’s “…they stood shaking while others began to shout,“ a dance that “explores the intersection of worship and dance with poetic imagination“ (New York Times).
The intimate dance was the revelatory result of Wilson’s research of the Shakers’ extraordinary focus on dance and music, and their long history of racial equality.
The mesmerizing work was originally performed in the Shakers’ iconic Round Stone Barn on July 6, 2019.
