At Field Farm, the family of Williams College alum Lawrence Bloedel collected outdoor sculpture and Modernist artwork for many years. Sculpture by Arline Shulman, Elbert Weinberg, Jack Zajac and others appears in the gardens overlooking high meadows around New England’s youngest house museum.
The Trustees of Reservations now keep the property, collaborating with the Williams College Public Art Program to maintain the collection Bloedel left to the college.
The folley opens for occasional tours and art talks, and the outdoor sculpture is always on view in the grounds, surrounded by 316 acres of conserved land with four miles of trails. The sculptures sit mostly in the garden, near the Guest House, which now runs as a B&B.
