The ’62 Center for Theatre and Dance — summer home of the Williamstown Theatre Festival — hosts performances year-round while the college is in session. The theater has welcomed Obie-awardwinning theater, perforance art and new work in progress.
Internationally acclaimed dancers and companies perform here from choreographer Ronald K. Brown and Evidence to Michelle Dorrance and Toshi reagon’s Blues Project to Shantala Shivalingappa’s world-reknowned Kuchipudi, a form of Indian classical dance.
Acclaimed and well-loved writers also appear on the Mainstage, from Junot Diaz to Wendell Berry — National Book Awardwinners, National Poets Laureate and more.
Theater and dance students perform here as well. And any of these performances are often free.
