The 45-acre, shallow, manmade Mauserts Pond is a highlight at Clarksburg State Park; it has a landscaped day-use area for picnicking and a pavilion overlooking the pond along with new bathroom facilities. Unguarded swimming is available at a designated beach area.
There are 368 acres of abundant and unspoiled northern hardwood forest with breathtaking views of the Hoosac Range, Mount Greylock and the Green Mountains. The pond is surrounded by 9.5 miles of foot trails. The 3 mile Pond Loop Trail is popular with birdwatchers, and the very easy Shoreline Trail has beautiful water views. 45 well-spaced and wooded campsites are located near the lake, featuring a modern comfort station with showers.
